TIM ALCORN

Tim
Alcorn is “the voice” of high school sports in Lorain County. He has
been calling basketball, football, baseball
and softball games in northeast Ohio since 1985.
A 1981 graduate of Midview High School and 1985 graduate of Kent State,
Tim served as a sportscaster and talk show host at various venues in the
Cleveland area, before landing at WEOL in Elyria, where he is the sales
manager and lead sportscaster. WEOL has received the “Best Sports
Station in Ohio”, six times in the last ten years. Tim is a three time
winner of the “Best Sportscaster in Ohio” award, by the Associated
Press. He is a member of the “Lorain County Football Coaches” Hall of
Fame and “The Lorain County Girls Basketball Coaches” Hall of Fame. The
WEOL Sports Team are members of the “Lorain County Football Coaches”
Hall of Fame. Tim was inducted into the Midview High School Academic
Hall of Honor this spring (May ‘11). Tim serves on the Board of
Directors’ of the Boys and Girls Club of Lorain County.
Tim, his wife, Diane, and their four children live in
South Amherst. We are pleased tohave MAHOF board member and well known
sportscaster, Tim Alcorn as our emcee this evening.
