Mention
Lorain County high school sports and the name Tim Alcorn will
surface sooner or later. He is truly “the voice” of high school
sports in Lorain County. His deep resonate voice is probably the
most recognizable in the area. He has been calling high school games
in northeast Ohio since 1985.
A 1981 graduate of Midview High School, Tim graduated from Kent
State University in 1985. Tim made the rounds of various Cleveland
sports stations as a sportscaster and sports talk show host and
landed at WEOL in Elyria in 1992. Tim and the rest of the WEOL
Sports Team are members of the Lorain County Football Coaches Hall
of Fame and were responsible for WEOL receiving the “Best Sports
Station in Ohio” award six times in the last seven years. Tim is
also a two time winner of Ohio’s Best Sports Broadcaster Award in
Ohio by the Associated Press. Recently, Tim was named Sales Manager
of the radio station.
Tim, his wife, Diane, and their four children live in South Amherst.
We are pleased to have MAHOF board member and well known
sportscaster, Tim Alcorn as our emcee this evening.
