 “A Season Of Glory.”
How else can one describe the 25-1 record compiled by the 1992
Midview High School Girls Volleyball team? It was the greatest
season in school history for any sport, girls or boys. Ranked
number one in the final Ohio poll in Division I, the team’s only
loss came in the state semifinal championship game against Stow, a
team they had beaten during the regular season.
Post season honors were many for the Middies.
Coach Faith Riccilli was named the Division I Coach of the Year.
Cass Dolhancyk was named first team All-Ohio, and Kim Wilson was
selected for the second team. Joining these two were fellow seniors
Noel Nicely and Amy Plas, who with Cass presented a formidable
trio at the net. They were strongly supported by Tara Stanislawski,
Jessica Homoki, Anne Arcipowski, Courtney MacNeal, and Carrie
Fischer.
Ably assisted by assistant coach Melanie Struck;
Riccilli made this, her final season as the Middie coach, her
finest. She credited the success of this team to the strong
leadership from her four seniors and their strong supporting cast.
It was truly a season to remember, “A Season Of Glory.” |
